REOPENING GUIDE & FAQ's BELOW
Operational changes to be aware of
A) Upon entry, all members will be asked to stand in front of a contactless temperature check and hand sanitiser kiosk. Anyone displaying symptoms should return home and seek medical guidance in order to protect Victoria members, staff and their families.
B) We will be asking all members to use their membership card to enter the gym. This allows us to count how many people are in the building. If you have lost your membership card, we encourage you to call us immediately and we will print one out for you.
C) Fitness classes recommenced Monday 27th July with increased changeover times. For Yoga & Pilates, attending members will have to bring their own mats as we cannot use club mats. Book Online
D) We have poolside showers available and our famous individual cubicles plus 2 poolside family changing cubicles taking 4 family persons comfortably. Our main changing rooms are being used for lockers, but 2 socially distanced showers for Ladies, and 2 showers in the Gents are now in operation to help with post-gym workouts.
E) Swimmers are encouraged to arrive as swim-ready as possible under their arrival garments.
F) Due to restrictions, the cafe serving bar will remain closed until further notice, but self serve Hot drinks and new seating is available.
G) No guests or day passes will be allowed initially, only club members.
H) A one way system will be implemented to avoid crossing within tight areas. The Reception Main Door will be used for entry and the Fire Exit door at Reception will be used for exit. Once you have swiped your card and gone through, you aren’t able to go through the same door to speak to reception. We ask that you leave through the exit door and enter the Main Reception door. No crossing will be allowed on the stairs; we politely ask members to wait for the other person to finish using the stairs before going down or up.
I) Initially, the booking system allows for 45 minute slots for use of the Swimming Pools & Gyms. There is a 15 minute break in-between these slots to allow time for sanitising and exiting. Book Online
J) Every other cardio machine and selected equipment will be out of use to maintain a social distance.
K) Our classes will be running at a reduced capacity. There will be markings on the studio floor/spin bikes to create space for each member.
L) We have always prioritised our member’s health and safety with our cleaning procedures, however, we have increased our cleaning schedule to help reduce the risk of transmission.
M) In each section of the gym, we have ‘Hygiene Stations’ set up for our members to wipe down equipment before and after use and hand sanitiser.
N) Prior to re-opening, Victoria Leisure has had a deep clean and Health & Safety Risk Assessments.
O) Please be aware that as before, all classes are still subject to postponement or cancellation if they are under-booked or for example, the club suffers a staff absence at short notice. We will endeavour to keep as many of the classes from pre-lockdown up and running as they were and at similar times. But if for any reason we need to take precautionary measures to control the occupancy level of the club in adherence with Government guidelines, we will not hesitate to cancel a class to keep members and staff safe.
